When I first met Victoria and Colbert, I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding. They were getting married in Northern Michigan on the beach with all of their closest family and friends. I arrived in Petoskey the night before the wedding, it was blue skies and pretty much perfect, Ā I was hoping Saturday would be similar weather. My second shooter and I woke up Saturday to crazy wind and rain, the wind was so bad, the branches outside were hitting our hotel room window. It’s always a little nerve wrackingĀ when the weather is like this, as a photographer, everyone looks to you for direction. I love my job so much that I 100% care about the photos as much as my client does. I want them to be the best they can be, so I was trying to have the mindset that everything would work out, and it did, and this was one of my favorite weddings of the year. I arrived at Victoria’s family home and while I was taking photos of her details, I heard her and her momĀ screamingĀ downstairs. They were getting all of their anger out because the weather wasn’t what they had dreamed of for the big day. They were debating on whether or not to have the ceremony outside and chance it. Victoria’s dad made the call shortly before, it looked like we had a small window of no rain, so they decided to go ahead and do it outside! About 2 minutes into the ceremony, it started pouringĀ and everyone barely made it to the tent. Even though it was a little hectic, this was THEIR day. Ā Victoria and Colbert made the best of it, wouldn’t let rain ruin their wedding, and because of that, I was able to get some amazing shots. This day was a day they will never forget, and I won’t either.
I love these. Ā I showed Victoria the picture of her on the left, and this was her reaction on the right š
Crossing her fingers for no rain!Ā Victoria was a little nervous, so her brother(man of honor), helped her relax by jumping up and down. They are so fun. <3
